Settings under "Configuration" > "Date and Time".
The device typically synchronizes its system time via an NTP server. The NTP time is queried during the boot process and is updated every 24 hours. The query is sent via port 123. This port must be opened on the firewall for outbound "stateful" traffic. You can also use a time server within your network. In some cases, your router may also function as an NTP server. If so, enter it under "NTP Server 1."
To set the time correctly, the device must have a working Internet connection or access to an NTP server!
Note: Manually setting the system time generally serves little purpose, since the device does not have a battery backup for the real-time clock, and therefore the system time resets to January 1, 1970, 12:00 a.m. after every reboot. Please ensure that the time server is always accessible and set correctly.
The appropriate time zone is determined based on the region and city/town settings.
• Region **Regions to choose from: Africa, America, Antarctica, Asia, Atlantic, Australia, Europe, Indian Ocean, Pacific, All.
• City / Town **Selecting a city based on region.
• Enable or disable the time server **Default = Enabled.
• NTP Servers 1–3 **Select from a list of available time servers. Alternatively, set the local time server (router) as the first option.
• NTP Server Pool **Address of an NTP server pool, e.g., pool.ntp.org.
• System Time **You can only enter the system time manually if the time server is disabled.
• System Date **You can only enter the system date manually if the time server is disabled.
