CO2 Traffic Light System for Infection-Prevention-Based Ventilation in Schools (FILS-R) The universal network signal lamp with an integrated NDIR CO2 sensor comes in an elegantly designed plastic housing. The lamp is powered by an eco-friendly plug-in power supply or via PoE (power over Ethernet, which delivers both data and power through a single network cable). The ALLNET PoE indicator light incorporates a high-quality industrial multisensor that offers a wide CO2 measurement range of 0–40,000 ppm. In the ideal operating range (25°C, 400–10,000 ppm), it provides an accuracy of ± (30 ppm). The signal lamp automatically converts the measured values into a standard optical signal, which can be visually displayed immediately via the integrated LEDs in the corresponding color.

The Indoor Air Quality Traffic Light serves as a guideline for ventilation in daycare centers, kindergartens, large daycare facilities, special education day centers, offices, fitness centers, hotels, senior living facilities and nursing homes, waiting rooms, retail stores, clubhouses, government offices and public institutions, churches, other places of worship, and, of course, schools.

This enables energy-efficient, demand-based room ventilation, thereby reducing operating costs and improving the well-being of the people in the space.

In general, it is recommended that rooms be ventilated when the CO2 concentration in the indoor air reaches 1,000 ppm (Yellow Level); however, ventilation is mandatory at 2,000 ppm (Red Level) to ensure adequate indoor air quality. For schools, a threshold of 1,000 ppm is considered the standard. The aforementioned thresholds refer to the current value in each case. If the CO2 concentration rises above this specified value, ventilation measures—such as manually opening windows or automatically activating a ventilation system—should ideally be taken. If the CO₂ level is below the critical threshold, it can be assumed that the concentration of viruses in the air is also reduced.

Alerts are triggered via a visual display and can optionally be sent as an audible alert or via email, FTP, or upload to the cloud.

Default thresholds: (can be changed in the software)

• at 0–999 ppm: Green level
• at 1,000–1,999 ppm: Yellow Level
• at 2,000–10,000 ppm: Red Level

The advantage of the ALL-PoE CO2 lamp over other CO2 lamps currently on the market is that the ALLNET version features a smart indicator light with its own integrated web interface, where you can, for example, define your own threshold values.

Advantages of the ALLNET solution over similar solutions:

• Should the reference values change—for example, due to new guidelines from the Federal Environment Agency—the ALLNET version can always be flexibly adapted to the new standard via the web interface.
• All lamps can be viewed via the integrated web interface. Parents of students in the class can also track the readings via the cloud.
• In the ALLNET version, you can also configure data logging and export the data as CSV or XLS files.
• In the ALLNET version, you can configure a rule that sends the values via email when they exceed or fall below a certain threshold, etc.
• The ALLNET version also includes a buzzer that can be used for optional actions.
• The ALLNET version also includes an additional sensor port from our Measurement and Control product line. You can use this sensor port to connect a wide variety of external sensors—ranging from temperature and humidity sensors to contact inputs with magnetic contacts for detecting when windows are open.

The high-quality Sensirion "Made in Switzerland" multisensor features an integrated two-channel design for measuring carbon dioxide concentration and is engineered to automatically compensate for any long-term drift.
